KidsCare Cambodia. Sambuhr Village, Siem Reap

In 2008, the local school burned down and a few expats and their Khmer partners decided to help rebuild it from their own personal funds.

Roger and Sun are the founders of the organization Kidscare Cambodia.

Fast forward to last year 2010, Where Tenille  Williams took on a "minor position" which entailed developing a large Australian sponsorship  base, as well as working tirelessly to raise donations for the day to day needs of the poor and emergency funds for the sick.

Tenille was very proud to work with a cute village where there are 116 families well below the current poverty line in Cambodia, meaning most families are not even making $1 a day.  There are also  48 extremely needy children, and sadly there are always new people coming down from the rural hills/mountains for the first time with nothing.

The school now has 886 students, and we have just finished building the Kindergarten for 50 extra students now.

There are 19 teachers teaching the students we now have to run 2 sessions in the morning and 1 extra session in the afternoon.

We have now started the new next project...

Unfortunately, Tenille was forced to step down from her role as Australian Coordinator of Kidscare Cambodia due to the onset of a sudden and serious illness, which she continues to battle at this time.
